Vilafonte Series C Red Blend, 750ml

The Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc define the style of this tasty red blend. Firm, powerful and concentrated; rich in fruit at release and blended for longevity. The Cabernet Sauvignon is harvested from the estate's most revered blocks while the Cabernet Franc aromatics display as hues of violet and elegance. Velvety in nature with primary red fruits, the Merlot block Z forms an integral part of this blend.

• Series C 2020 displays a great density of red to a black colour and a bright crimson rim
• Deep, sensuous aromatics with clear Series C typicity of dark blue/black fruit notes
• Rich layers of black currant pastille, liquorice, hints of Juniper berry and charred cedar-wood offer appreciable sophistication
• The palate is deliciously broad and harmonious, displaying “fruit sweetness” throughout
• Luscious mid-palate with ripe tannins, good weight and texture. Both linear and continuous, showing perfect presence and great length
• The vintage reflects a quintessential elegance, with a core of satin-textured tannins and youthful energy
• While alluring in its youth, the 2020 Series C promises a decade or more of cellaring to realise its full potential
• Twenty-two months in 68% new French oak barque, with the balance in older French oak
• Series C 2020 consists of Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Merlot (24%), Malbec (10%) and Cabernet Franc (8%)
• Sixty-one barrels were produced
