Best choice so far among a variety of solar lanterns. The light weight of the UltraTec means the lamps are ideal for hanging on slender patio trees. Ability to charge also by cable is a boon. I bought two for starters and will get more.

This is what you need for black-outs or for camping, especially if you have small children around. These solar lanterns are made of soft silicone, so are unbreakable. They charge either with sunlight or there is a USB charger cord to plug into a USB port to recharge. I was amazed with the first 3 I bought, so I have just bought another 4, some of which I will use as Xmas gifts - ideal!!

These lanterns cast a really nice light. Can be used as a bedside lamp, good enough for reading. Charged them the first time with the USB, then topped up during the day with sunlight. Lasts the five hours or so that the specs say. Did not have occasion to test their waterproofness. Recommended.

What a magical device this is to be sure. We don't wait for 'outages' to plunge us into darkness. We decorate our tables every night with this soft light.
Most impressive is the ordering of the lantern. It just suddenly arrived at our local PostNet! No fuss or bother.

We used them on our camping trip and they light up really well inside and outside the tent. I charged them fully with the usb cable before we left, put them in the sun when I remembered and the solar lanterns kept lighting up for four days.
