Pa Casola 850W Bread Maker

My partner offered that I could choose a mall gift from Yuppiechef for our anniversary, so this is what I chose. Besides it being one of the most expensive units available in SA I decided on this product for 2 main reasons. The 2 year warranty vs the standard 1 year warranty from other cheaper brands. The picture on the brochure (and on this website and all other websites) and box is misleading, it gives you the impression that you can bake 2 different types of small loves at the same time, but you can’t. In the manual and recipe booklet there are no 2 small different loaves under the same baking setting. Eg basic, sweet etc. So, you can either bake 2 of same type of small loves or one large loaf at a time. Even on the dark setting the bread is very pale on top, sides crisp up lovely though. If you bake either the large loaf or the small loves the pedals does not come out of the bread easily so it breaks the bread and leaves you with BIG holes. All of this defines the object of this machine that it supposedly offers better features vs the other brands. For my use, it is now a white elephant in my Kitchen and I have actually had great success with a another brand at half the price. I, unfortunately, could not make use of the 30 day return policy because I used the unit and had no valid reason as I should have informed myself better before making the purchase. Read more

Worst kitchen appliance I have ever invested in, not living up to the standards of other brands. Cycle too short, no proper kneading, not proofing long enough and bread always pale even on the 'dark' setting. For the price an absolute NO.

Best investment ever. I'm baking bread every second day. I have not had one flop so far. Loaf size is perfect.

Bought this bread baking machine because we camp a lot and my previous machine was more than 10 years old and needed to be replaced. I thought an upgrade - but this was a downgrade.

Never been successful with a loaf of bread yet, every time a disappointment - either pale, raw, or for another reason. I thought I was the reason, then I started to investigate …

Unlike most other bread machines it makes a proper sized and shape loaf, as well as two small loafs if you want.
The mixing paddles are smaller than most machines so less of a hole in the bottom of the bread and comes with a hook to assist removal of the paddles from the bread. Pity bread machines do not beep at a point when you could take out the paddles to reduce this problem in bread machines even further. A top browning element would be a further great addition to get better colour on the top of loaves.
