These wine glasses are perfect for young, full-bodied (more than 12 percent alcohol), complex red wines that are high in tannin. The glass smoothes out the rough edges, emphasising the fruit, allowing wines to achieve a balance that would normally take years of ageing to acquire. The generous size of this glass allows the bouquet to develop fully.
The shape directs the flow of wine onto the zone of the tongue which perceives sweetness, thus accentuating the fruit and de-emphasising the bitter qualities of the tannin.
- Recommended for: Bordeaux (red), Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rioja, Tempranillo.
- Vinum is made of over 24% lead crystal.

Life's too short to drink from anything but Riedel
I don't know why it's taken me so long to invest in Riedel wine glasses, but I'm so glad that I have now! They are attractive, incredibly thin, and remarkably robust. Worth every penny.

So thin and diswasherproof on top of it
As long as your dishwasher has the top tray set to the correct height, they do fit into in the dishwasher and they don't go cloudy. The stems are slim and delicate, so you do need to handle with reasonable care. I keep buying more because I have started to use them in our holiday house. Once you have experienced this level of slim glass, you can't drink wine out of anything else...
