I used to make my own chicken stock since none of the store-bought brands seemed good at all, and one brand of stock ruined a leek soup I attempted.

I bought the chicken stock from NoMU and have used it in soups and sauces and it's always been great. Definitely worth not having to make chicken stock at home.

I use the veg stock in both veg and meat dishes and soups. It adds a nice subtle flavour and I do not need to add any additional salt. It is a must have in any kitchen!

This chicken stock is such a winner - it's versatile, tasty and comes as close to the real thing as you'll get. Yum.

If you've ever looked at the ingredients of your regular stocks, you'll notice that there are many preservatives in them that you're better off not consuming. You're only alternative is to cook some chicken bones in water and make your own stock... that is until NoMU came to the rescue! Preservative free and easy to use in its liquid format. No more bone cooking for me.

The convenience of using stock cubes became a "major inconvenience" as one could not easily control the salt in-take. This new excellent product removes the problem without losing its flavour and viscosity and more importantly when time is of the essence it is an essential item.

NoMU makes a good quality liquid stock that dissolves easily, and has a herby flavour. The vegetable one particularly is not too salty, as is the case with many vegetable stocks.

All these stock flavours are great quality, but nothing I have been able to buy, neither in South Africa nor abroad, have come close to the excellent lamb flavour. Taste just like the best type of lamb roast you could hope for! Amazing basted onto chops instead of salt. Standard item in my fridge door!

Nomu is of great quality, and so is this chicken stock - it's my favourite. I enjoy the fact that it is already in liquid. Taste is authentic! Buying it from Yuppiechef is a convenience, as you don't always find them at the supermarket.

I had finally reached the end of my stockpile (excuse the pun) and realised that no-one had any stock due to the rebrand. Luckily, it was only a few weeks until it came back into stock!
It's the same delicious product with a great new look. So glad to have it back in my pantry!

I am very happy I tried the chicken fond, it is definitely the best stock ever and I use it in everything, even when cooking rice. I look forward trying some of the other stock types like beef and lamb. Will be buying this again.

The entire range of Nomu fond stocks is a must-have for food fundi's to transform ordinary meals to the sublime. The Beef Fond is lovely in any oxtail dish, gives super flavour to mince , french onion soup, hungarian goulash. The Lamb Fond is awesome in Italian Minestrone along with fresh basil. Rich flavour with the right amount of saltiness. The packaging is neat and tidy but would suggest knowing the best before date. Mine arrived but expires 2 months later.

What more can I say except that I have stopped making my own stock since I started using this awesome stuff. No more trying to extricate those freezer bags of homemade stock from the freezer that have managed to freeze themselves around and through the freezer basket. Win!
