This Cake Tester is so simple, small and effective. You could just use a knife or a toothpick to achieve the same results, but the Cake Tester allows you to test any depth of cake without getting your fingers gooey and, because its thin, it doesn't leave wide holes all over your cake!

This is such a clever item. Small but so useful. I've always used a knife to check my baking but it always leaves a large hole! Any avid baker will enjoy this.

I got my first recipe book when I was 7 but never bought or received a cake tester. I always used a knife which leaves ugly holes. This little wonder is easy to use and easy to clean. And with the "cake tester" written on the top, it's easy to find. Should have gotten one much sooner. Easy to wipe clean. I don't ever put it in the drawer. Stays on top of my microwave permanently. Use it for baking and cooking (egg dishes and such). Read more

So much easier to get a perfect bake. Love this. Not so easy to find in a lot of stores. Better than using a skewer or knife to check the cake as the hole is minimal

This product delivers just as described. While you could always use a knife, this cake tester leaves a smaller whole, which looks neater.
I also use it for testing if potatoes are cooked through.
