Instant Vortex Plus 6-in-1 Airfryer, 5.7L

Having owned a Philips airfryer before, the quality of the fry on most foods is somewhat dry, especially on chips and muffins.

The unit does not have a handy pop-out handle compartment tray to remove food when ready as the Philips does, which makes a big practical difference.

Also, there is a preheat time that you need to factor in before it begins to work.

So happy that I decided on the Instant Vortex Plus 6-in-1 Airfryer.

I had bought my mom another much more expensive well-known brand last Christmas and, after having used both brands, I find this Instant Vortex Plus 6-in-1 Airfryer is seriously so much better for me.

Aesthetically pleasing to the eye, functions are easy to use, preheats quickly, and a dream to clean (I put a layer of foil under the tray to catch any drippings, although not necessary), all of which make it an absolute pleasure to use.

I've used it every single day since I received it... toast, bacon, and eggs have become my standard breakfast. My chicken, ribs, lamb, steak, and fish were done in no time and came out nice and tender. So convenient that a few different food items can be cooked together.

I have a prepaid electricity meter and have noticed that it uses a lot less kWh than my normal electric stove/oven uses.

I have heard so many people raving about how fantastic it is to use an air fryer and I wasn't 100% convinced until now! It really does make a huge difference. The results are amazing & the cooking time is halved!! It's also easy to use and washing up is quick, as the basket & inner tray are non-stick.

I have a modern fan assisted oven, but it can’t compete with the Instant Vortex plus 6-in-1.

Pros: takes half the time to cook, is easier to use and clean, food is crisper on the outside and moister on the inside - makes the best sweet potato chips ever!

Cons: ‘Loose’ baking tray drops out if basket turned over, so food must be dished out of basket rather than tipped out. Read more

I love this appliance. I have used it to bake croissants and other goodies. Have also used the airfryer feature — fries to perfection. Have roasted a leg of lamb with potatoes on the Roast function and the lamb was succulent and juicy and the potatoes nice and crispy. Absolutely love it — don't know how I survived without it.

I bought this air fryer about a week ago and the first thing I tried was pork belly. It came out juicy with perfect crackling and it had rendered the fat to perfection.
Even though I can’t put the basket in the dishwasher I find it very easy to clean.
The basket is perfect for two people but I’m not sure it would be big enough for a family of 4 as the food in the basket (i.e. chops) can’t touch in order to circulate the air properly.

Very satisfied with this purchase. We used our old original Phillips airfryer for years but it was in serious need of replacement. We, therefore, decided to get something bigger and better suited to our larger family. I can air-fry an entire 1kg bag of frozen chips in one go now with this model, with room to spare. I am extremely pleased with this air fryer and feel it is better value than the newer Phillips ones that were totally out of our price range. So far I have used the airfryer and bake functions, and both functions very quick with excellent results!

The air fried chicken pieces are fantastic!! I only wish that the "add food" and "turn food" had an audible signal.

I am so happy with this air fryer... It's so easy to use and, it really looks good in my kitchen.

I made chicken, crisp outside and so so juicy inside. Nuggets are the same and yes I did a rump steak - holy moly! Not as good as a braai steak, but definitely the best 2nd option!

If you cannot braai it... air fry it☺
