can I reduce the amount of sugar I use in a recipe and replace it with something else especially if one doesn't like too much sugar in a recipe

Yes, you can reduce and replace sugar in most cases. Depending on the recipe, you can substitute sugar for honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, fruit puree or something like Xylitol. Hope this helps!
