Eight Gates Chenin Blanc, 750ml — Variant: 2024

A beautifully balanced Chenin Blanc that harmonises ripe fruit flavours with a touch of minerality. Naturally fermented with indigenous yeasts, it’s aged for 10 months to develop depth and complexity. Hand-harvested from a small, 2-hectare vineyard in Tulbagh, this limited-edition wine reflects craftsmanship and terroir, with only 1,000 bottles produced.

• 2023:
  • Balanced blend of ripe fruit flavours and minerality
  • Naturally fermented with indigenous yeasts
  • Aged 10 months in new 300L and 500L barrels for depth
  • Hand-harvested with minimal intervention, reflecting craftsmanship and terroir
  • Small batch from a 2-hectare vineyard in Tulbagh, yielding 1,000 bottles

    • Slightly higher yield than 2023
    • Picked over three days across a two-week span in late January to early February
  • Vinification:
    • Whole-bunch pressed, juice settled overnight
    • Fermentation in barrels using indigenous vineyard yeast
    • Thicker lees added to enhance juice nutrients
    • Wine matured undisturbed
    • Racked off lees and bottled from steel tank on January 8, 2025
  • Production:
    • Approximately 1,300 bottles produced
