Just could not stop eating them. I find they taste even better if you heat several of them up in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Also great service from Yuppiechef, as usual.

Tastes fresh and full of flavour. Very happy! My only wish is that there was an option to buy raw chestnuts for roasting over a braai or in the oven.

I remember eating chestnuts as a child and when I saw these, I had to buy. They didn't disappoint. I just pick them out the bottle but you can also add them to stuffing for your turkey/chicken for Xmas. I think I enjoy them because they aren't in any sauce or brine and you really get the taste of the chestnut

I read the reviews, and as I have wondered what chestnuts tasted like — I decided to buy. I bought 2 expensive bottles. Then searched for a recipe online and made this wine braised pork with chestnuts and sweet potatoes. Everything was delicious — but my husband and I found the chestnuts to be strange tasting, perhaps as we've never eaten them before. I would have loved to taste chestnuts on the open fire! I couldn't imagine eating them out of the bottle! I think — like olives — it's perhaps an acquired taste. I'm not even sure what I expected them to taste like! Read more

These French chestnuts are usually amazing. Excellent taste and excellent preparation. We buy them all the time but the last 2 jars — one jar was all good but second one most of the chestnuts had mould on them. Should have been checked before dispatch.
