Barrett's Ridge Beer Bread Kit - Original

This bread took two minutes to prepare and was really quick to bake too. Came out rising high with a crusty outside and soft inside. Only unhappy person was the husband as I used his beer to make it!!!!!

Such a simple, but crowd-pleasing product. Everyone loves snacking on a bit of warm, homemade bread. A smidge stodgy in the centre, but I think I took it out a bit early.

Christmas Day celebrations in our house are very special! This year, I really wanted to serve fresh home-baked bread on Christmas Day and the Barrett's Ridge Beer Bread Kit was the perfect solution! Instead of baking a loaf I baked 6 little snowmen using a Christmas baking pan. I loved how easy it was to make the dough and my family and guests loved the taste of these freshly baked "drunken" little snowmen! (I even took a photo!) :-)

I love this product! From the cute, re-usable bag (for a gift or even for your cellphone and keys) to the simple instructions and yummy results. Making bread made me a bit nervous, but it was simple, easy and delicious. We used Milk Stout and got a warm, dark loaf with a crunchy crust and soft center. I must say, it was a hit with our friends!

Super easy to make but was more of a scone texture than a yeast bread and too sweet for our taste, however not a crumb left over.

This does not taste like real bread, more like cake without sugar, not up my street, will not order it again, rather try my own recipe.

I tried making the bread with soda water and it came out really well but my one gripe is that the loaf could be a little bigger. It was wiped out pretty quickly!

So Easy!! You can't go wrong with this bread, unless you fall asleep and let it burn to crisps! I tried it with a Savanna instead of beer and it worked like a charm. I can't wait to try all the other bread varieties!

Only had the opportunity to have one measly slice as my children ravished the entire loaf in one sitting! But the slice I did get to taste was really yummy. I used soda water and it tasted perfect.

I made my first loaf of the "Traditional" beer bread. It is easy to make and bake. I found it has a taste that one has to get used to and leaves a slightly bitter after taste. But nevertheless I would make more!

The beer bread was relatively simple to make however the taste was not to my liking. It was way too salty and thus inedible. I would not buy this product again. Sorry :(

I absolutely love this stuff. You can`t go wrong by pitching at a braai with one of these bad boys. Very easy to mix, difficult to flop.

Plays very nicely with Erdinger Non-Alcoholic beer.

Always enjoy the Barrett's Ridge Break Kits - most convenient when you don't have the time to wait for the yeast to activate in "homemade" bread.

This bread is so delicious, the plate was cleared in no time and everyone wanted more, despite the fact that all the ladies were on "diet". We made the bread with beer the first time and then again with a cider, and both times it was very well received. This is definitely a winner :-)

I can't say my partner is the baking type, but he does love making beer bread! It's easy to mix, minimal dishes and once the baking is done, spread a little butter on a slice while it's warm, and enjoy! Wrap it up in some tinfoil and it stays fresh for days (if you can stop eating it :)). Great alternative to garlic bread at a braai.

All you do is add beer!
Really easy instructions to follow and the bread rose beautifully. I recommend you follow their recipe tip and brush the top with melted butter — it worked like a bomb.
Would like a gluten-free version.

We bought four types of these bread kits. We tried one and it was terrible - not at all bread-like. We dumped the other three.

One gets the impression that this bread mix is "plain" but it actually has "herbs and spices" in it. I wasn't expecting that. There is definitely pepper in it - and it is too much! Bread was a little doughy too.
