Design flaw.
This tea pot hasn't been designed well. The infuser doesn't sit low enough in the pot so you need to fill the pot, except the spout starts too low down so fills quickly at the same time and spills out. As a result you can only fill the tea pot half way which isn't nearly enough to cover the infuser. Also the lid is made of steel so gets very hot to the touch. Beautiful and functional!
I'm so delighted with this teapot. It's beautiful and functional and large enough for 4 cups. Stainless diffuser is a bit stiff to remove but overall it works very well and is a pleasure to use.
