Logic would say metal would be better, but after browsing through a lot of reviews it was a simple choice of the Chef'n Force over the other model available on this site. The handle has a gear so I imagine even older people could manage just fine. I did some research before purchasing this Potato Ricer. It lived up to my expectations. Works like a dream and so easy to use. Best mashed potato ever! I would recommend it to anyone.

This was my first Yuppiechef purchase after throwing away 3 shop bought items shortly after purchase. 3 years later, we still enjoy silky smooth potato mash, skirly mirly (potatoes with parsnips, turnips and carrot, salt, pepper and a good dose of butter - not marg!) This is my first ricer so perhaps I was expecting too much - I made gnocchi but found it a bit messy to insert potatoes in the cup - cup is rather small and the disc that presses down does not allow you to insert a large quantity of potato. Otherwise its nice and sturdy - I also would have liked the holes to be slightly smaller but this is a personal thing.

I will be using this ricer not only for Gnocchi. I now make super light mashed potatoes and want to make potato pastries and also potato bread.
If anyone can recommend some good tested recipes I will be grateful.

It looks amazing and the mechanical leverage works well.

Overall I am happy, however, the injection point from moulding is ground/cut off and leaves a mark on the black plastic.

For R1000 one would not expect this to be the case. Simply shaving off some plastic isn't the answer.

I would not recommend this product to a friend.
