What a fabulous little kithen tool! Clips neatly on the side of the saucepan and a perfect gauge for the fastidious yoghurt maker!

Nice compact little thermometer. Has a nice little clip that fits on the side of the pot. Works well.
However it is not marked at each of the sugar stages, so if you are doing sugar or jam you have to know the different temperatures for all the different stages, or at least have it in your recipe or close at hand.

Great product. Was concerned that it would be extremely fragile, but it is not at all. Cooked my sugar candy perfectly!!

I used this thermometer to make fudge, something I always mess up! The thermometer worked perfectly. The fudge was delicious. I'm thrilled. The thermometer is a nice size, and clips on to the side of a pot nicely. The scale is also easy to read.

I was disappointed with this product as I found the temperature measurement reads approximately 10 degrees lower than it should.

This thermometer is very accurate and is sold at a very reasonable price. Perfect for making italian meringues, marshmallows, jellies, yoghurt or practically anything that needs accurate temperature measurements.

This product will be useful for smaller mixtures
Item reviewed:
Review by Linda R. on 21 May 2014, 16 days after purchase
I haven't had a chance to use this thermometer yet. I have another large thermometer that I use when making marmalade but it is too big for smaller mixtures that don't cover the immersion line so this smaller thermometer will be perfect for making nougat as per the recipe in one of your recent newsletters!

It works as advertised

It seems to be ok, but I have no way of checking if it is accurate or not except by buying another thermometer! I haven't broken the glass container, but I am being very careful with it.

Basic thermometer

Review by Jeanne L. on 7 January 2018, 1 month after purchase
This thermometer worked well for making yoghurt however the intervals between degrees are very large so its not very accurate. Each notch counts for 5 degrees. I would prefer a thermometer that reads ever 2 degrees.

Neat and sleek. Other thermometers are very bulky and not easy to store. This thermometer fits neatly in the kitchen drawers and has an adjustable hook to fit in the pot you are using it in. Perfect to work around any cooking that involves controlled temperature levels - sugars in particular

This product is ok

I read the instructions and followed it. After first use it leaked. But it does work if you want to tell the temperature even though it leaked.

Extremely Fragile

Just too fragile for a busy kitchen drawer! Mine has broken within weeks. If you share a kitchen space with other any other humans spend a little extra and get something a little sturdier.

Not too happy

I think this product is rather flimsy and far too delicate for serious kitchen cooking. The Mercury in the bowl has now resided at an angle which is strange.
The manufacturers could have produced a better product.

Worth the money!

I purchased this to make my own ricotta in lockdown and while I can't vouch that the temperature is totally accurate, it certainly worked for me. Mists up a little but readable and that clears afterwards. Used twice now and highly successful. My pot has a wide lip so it doesn't clip on the pot but I am a cook who hovers so that isn't a big deal. Needs to be kept safe as fragile so I leave in the washing up utensil holder. Read more

Poor quality

It seems like it is not resistant at big temperature (118 degrees). The glass broke while i was boiling my syrup.
I do not recommend it at all!

I am extremely happy with my product. This is the first thermometer I have bought and am thoroughly enjoying it. I made strawberry jam last weekend and it came out perfect as I was able to check the temperature.
