what can i use instead of eggs in cakes, pastries and bread?

Some recipes have syrup in the place of eggs or cooked mashed apples. I would not just remove the eggs from a recipe and replace it with syrup or mashed apples. There are many recipes without eggs available. Bread does not need any eggs as you use yeast. Hope this helps
