LOOKING FOR DESTROSE AND INVERT SUGAR

Julia B. | 21 Dec 2015 in Recipes (Category closed) | 2 Responses

I am looking for dextrose and invert sugar to use in a gelato recipe. I have done my homework, and know that I cannot substitute invert sugar with liquid glucose, but that honey MAY work. I also know that I can try and make my own invert sugar with citric acid, but am really not keen on that.

I have have tried all the so-called speciality baking shops including the Baking Tin, and have simply been met with blank stares.

Huletts can only supply me with invert sugar in bulk (35kg's) but not dextrose.

Is there anybody out there with sage advice, or who can supply me with small quantities for home consumption?

For the invert sugar I'm not sure where you will find it but dextrose sugar can be found in small quantities at beer brewing stores such as www.thebeerkeg.co.za also known as brewing sugar.
