how does one prepare a kohlrabi?
I recently decided to be adventurous and bought 2 beautiful round green kohlrabi bulbs? and I have no idea how to prepare them. Any ideas please?

Hi Belinda
I haven't tried them yet but they certainly sound very interesting - you've got me wanting to get hold of a couple myself!
Apparently, as long as you peel it first, kohlrabi can be eaten raw, shredded or sliced in a salad or coleslaw, roasted in the oven or added to a soup.
I found this article quite useful for a bit more information: http://www.thekitchn.com/top-five-ways-to-prepare-kohlr-60321
Please report back on how it goes!
Take care,

Hi Belinda, I just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to try out some kohlrabi! I sliced it into batons and added it to a coleslaw salad and then roasted some with a few other root veggies the next day. It was lovely! Did you enjoy yours?
That sounds good too.
I tried steaming them, and just ate them like that - didn't manage to get more creative, but delicious anyway.
And I also roasted some with some roast potatoes - pretty good all in all. Just need to be sure to peel them well:-)
