Grind & Brew Coffee Maker, 1.2L

It makes good strong coffee which is the filter method. Cleaning is easy by just throwing away the suggested disposable paper filter. There is a permanent filter in place, just in case one doesn’t put the paper filter in properly. The timer works well. It makes from 2 to 10 small cups. The 3 cups make 1 large mug.
Only drawback is the instruction manual which I found isn’t that easy to understand but once I worked it out, the coffee machine became a boon. Read more

I have always wanted to have a coffee maker like those "in the movies" but I wanted to have fresh ground beans and this PHILIPS is just THE best of both. The fact that you can have 2 different beans and create your own bespoke blend is awesome. And my ultimate best, the timer that gets everything going in the morning has become my new alarm.
I am a bit concerned about the grinder, and how one would service that once it becomes blunt. But overall here's to great coffee. Read more

Such a great product. Convenient and easy to use. Love not needing to grind my beans every morning. Also very handy being able to store the beans in the top container. Can’t think of anything negative to say about this coffee machine. Well done Philips!

Don’t waste your money

If you love fresh strong bean coffee, I would highly recommend not to buy this

We flushed / clean the machine as per the instructions 4 times. We used high quality (super strong strength) coffee beans, and selected the highest bean strength level and each time the coffee was just weak coffee water. I even used the ground coffee option and made no difference.

Aside from the weak coffee and cleaning the machine - we could not get rid of the horrendous almost burnt plastic taste and smell in the coffee. It’s been a very unpleasant experience and that’s only after owning the machine for 24 hours - I can’t imagine that this machine gets better with use. In fact based on the quality - I’d worry that after extreme use this machine wouldn’t last for more than 6 months.

I bought this machine for my own kitchen and was so impressed that I bought another one for the office. The step by step set-up guide is easy to understand and the machine is easy to set-up (takes about 10 minutes). Once set-up, it is a breeze to use. I set the timer at night and can smell the brewed coffee in the morning! It is such a fabulous machine, I would highly recommend it

You know when you stand in a coffee shop and hear the machine grinding your beans for your perfect cup of coffee — that is this machine, except your coffee costs less than half of what you'd pay...easy to use with stylish looks, this sleek machine has only one drawback (hint: don't buy your beans until you've read the manual) — and I do so love my Espresso!!!
