The MinoSharp Knife Sharpener is an awesome product with several good reviews online from kitchen and culinary professionals. A huge plus is being able to replace the worn ceramic inserts when needed. The only limiting factor is that the slots in the 2-stage cover will not allow thicker blades access. For this you'll need a wider mouthed sharpener such as any of the Wusthof knife sharpeners or similar. Read more

I have had my sharpener a long time, and am on my third set of wheels now. It is brilliant on the thinner Japanese blades, but I have also found it works pretty well on German and French knives too. All you have to do is take the cover off, work carefully, and watch that your fingers stay away from the business end of the job! Steady hands needed, but good to go! Clean the wheels ( in place) with an old tooth brush, dishwashing liquid and warm water when they get coated in steel residue and show black. Read more

This is my second Global knife sharpener, having bought one many years ago. When the time came to get a new one I just went for the same one as I know it works like a dream.
