I had a MeatStick previously and after 6 months I got tired of connectivity issues so returned it. I then bought the Meater+ which previously was not available in SA. The Meater+ is so much better and just works. Lots of cooking options, great range and the app is really great. A quality product worth the higher price tag.

I highly recommend this thermometer, and see it as an essential cooking item. It takes the guesswork out of cooking any piece of meat by any means. With the live tracking of temperatures and calculated ETA, your meat will be cooked perfectly every time. It is intuitive to use and easy to clean.

I am very happy with this product's performance. You can really trust this product. For instance, if you want it medium and it says remove from heat — just do it. It takes resting times into account as your meat is still cooking on the inside. It will notify you after the resting period is over. GREAT PRODUCT!

Oh my goodness love it. I don’t know how I cooked without it, I cooked a roast last night it was perfect.

I love the resting time info. Never rested things for long enough before. It makes a huge difference! Just remember that walls between rooms shorten the Bluetooth transmission. A bit of a pain but that’s how Bluetooth works

The probe itself works wonderfully and takes a lot of the guesswork out of cooking meat. I often do very complicated cooking of large joints, especially pork where I change oven temperatures during cooking. Every time it has been spot on.

However, there is one major and very frustrating flaw. The Bamboo charging dock keeps disconnecting from the probe when placed on the countertop next to the under-counter oven, a distance of under 1m. This has happened on 4 separate ovens I've worked with so far.

We've had to resort to placing the bamboo charging dock on a box at the oven door. I have 3 friends with the same device and the same problems. I also see this is a common issue in other reviews. Read more

Apart from the promised distances between thermometer and receiver being somewhat overrated, this product delivers everything I needed.

Internal and ambient thermometers in one unit is a great idea.

After trying many times the steaks are always overdone. I think the problem is that by the time the heat gets to the thermostat, the rest of the steak is done resulting in overdone. For the price that you pay for this product, it's not worth it.
