Round Cast Iron Enamel Casserole, 6L

I love this pot. Especially now that I get to use it often (winter meals sorted)! It's pretty heavy, as in heavy, but worth the effort.

It's a really good pot for cooking casseroles and I'm glad I bought it for that reason, but I'm not convinced on the quality of the inner ceramic coating. I've used it for about 10 cooks and there are about a half dozen pinholes on the inner ceramic coating, and the ceramic is also becoming stained. The outer ceramic is still in perfect condition.

I reported the staining of the inner ceramic to LK and I was told that "it's not a problem" but if I wanted to remove the stain I should use bicarb and vinegar. I tried this and it didn't work — the stain remains.

(For full disclosure, when I make a casserole, I first sweat the onions in butter, in the pot, on the stovetop on a low heat setting. Unless I'm wrong, I don't think this should cause staining)

The pot is a third of the price of a Le Creuset but I'm thinking of spending the money and upgrading, just for peace of mind. I'm also a little disappointed on LK's attitude on this issue. Read more

I love my new dutch oven — it works excellently on the stove top and in the oven. I've made soups and stews with it with great success. The only downside is that within the second use the lid got a nasty chip in it — and I've been very careful. Another thing to note is that the inside rim of the pot and lid are not covered in enamel and thus prone to rusting. This is also where the chip happened. I bought this for cooking food that requires slow cooking. I am very pleased with it. On the box it says it can also be used on gas hobs but on the website it doesn't say that so they need to update that on the website. I have used it on the gas hob and no issue. Overall, a good pot, worth the money.

I was impressed with the quality, given that the general price of enamel cast iron is quite expensive. This pot does the job, looks great, perfect for straight to table serving. Slightly lighter in weight versus my other cast irons pots but certainly worth the money.

Already have a 3 litre one of these and they're just so versatile in the kitchen. From straight cooking to baking and roasting. Absolutely love it! The ombre colour is also very cool, bringing a bit of practical trendiness into the kitchen!
