This French oak placemat has a unique design laser etched onto the surface, giving these placemats a cheerful, whimsical feeling. The edges are slightly bevelled, and the surface is the perfect, smooth place setting.
- Weathered French oak placemat which can also be used as a serving plate
- Perfect for creating a place setting, or for using to serve breads and antipasti
- Made from unoiled, weathered French oak - can be oiled with a food grade mineral oil for a waterproof finish, but this will darken the colour
Laid Back Company donates a percentage of all designs sold with the ellie symbol on them to the Mike McMillan Nature Fund, which focuses on conservation of African elephants.

Care instructions
- Don't submerge or soak in water
- Don't put in a dishwasher
- Wipe only with a damp cloth, as the extremes of heat or moisture will damage the wood
Laid Back Co recommends oiling with olive oil regularly to help protect the oak, but please note that this will darken the colour and appearance of the oak. Other food safe oils, like linseed oil, would also be okay to use. When using oils on trays or items sitting on table- or countertops, be sure they are dry and excess oil is absorbed before placing back down.

Lovely charming place mat that I use as a bread board. Only down side is that it is rather absorbent and stains easily but these stains will fade and add to its character over time. I love it and would recommend. I get plenty of oooh's and awwww's when I use it when guests come over.

Great pizza board. Do follow the recommendation to brush with olive oil first or grease from melted cheese will mark the wood. The oil does unfortunately darken the lovely natural light colour but is necessary. Wiping the board did however raise a couple of tiny splinters but hopefully, they will wear off over time - or be eaten! :)

Beautiful wood, crafted well. Becomes a deep oak colour when you apply the olive oil.
A lovely addition to the dining table and protects your table surface.
