The Clearview stainless steel porringer/double boiler is designed to cook delicate sauces and melt chocolate carefully. The lower pan envelopes the upper saucepan in water, thereby maintaining an even temperature to prevent the burning or curdling of sauces, chocolates and custards, and the burning of foods such as scrambled egg.

I bought this item about a year ago, and have used it only twice. The inner black lining is delaminating already! Made hollandaise sauce and found black pieces in the sauce soon after adding the first piece of butter. Had to discard the sauce when I found it is "plastic" and on washing the pot found that the whole bottom is delaminating.

I would not recommend this product to a friend.

After struggling yet again with two saucepans (using tin foil to seal), it was time for a change. These items are easy to use, functional and attractive. Should have bought it years ago!

No more burnt custard, chocolate or milk! A breeze to clean. Only thing is, I struggled to get decent sized non-stick friendly whisks that work well in this pot - they're either too big or too small.... Wish it had a pour spout.

This does everything a double boiler should, with ease. I toyed with the non-stick inner, but am glad I went for it - it's great when scraping out molten sauces/chocolate. Added bonus, two extra pots to add to the collection when not being used as a double boiler - good size for boiling veg or eggs.

This product is so light and easy to use. It is easy to clean.
Thank goodness I don't have to place a bowl over a pot anymore. And so often the water touches the bowl and ruins the mixture.

I do love Yuppiechef.

I have used a double boiler like this for years, my niece brought me one from the UK. I was delighted to see the same one advertised on Yuppiechef. The double boiler is strong, versatile and easy to clean.

The base is perfect for boiling baby potatoes and eggs. The top makes the best porridge ever. Why do I need a new one? To have one at home and one at the sea.
