If you want a knife that isn't too heavy and holds a keen edge for a long time then is is the knife for you. Great kitchen tool that makes you want to keep chopping.

I have wanted a global knife for a long time, and it has not disappointed... razor sharp (we are sporting the cuts to prove it) and easy to handle.

This is the first 'proper' knife I have ever owned.
After careful research on the internet about weight, sharpness, ease to sharpen and how long it retains its edge I settled on this knife.
Now unfortunately I don't have much to compare it to besides the old cheapo's I have made razor sharp but in my limited experience this knife is a pleasure to work with.
It is comfortable, an extension of me.

Beautifully designed, comfortable to use, and oh so wonderfully sharp, this knife is our go-to for almost all cutting/chopping jobs. It does lose it's edge fairly quickly, though, so get a good sharpener to keep it in tip top shape.

This knife works wonderfully! The blade is extremely sharp initially and sharpening it with a whetstone when that super-sharpness fades brings it right back. We got a few nicks in ours due to being a bit too ambitious, but it still works like a dream almost 2 years after the purchase with a bit of sharpening. I can see this knife still serving us well for many years to come.

I love my G2

I love my G2. I have had it for ages and it does brilliantly at pretty much everything.

I am not particularly disciplined when it comes to keeping it sharp, but even without a perfectly maintained edge is works like a charm.

The fact that it is less weighty in the hand than one or two of my German knives makes it the more likely knife for me to grab for most quick tasks in the kitchen.
