The box works very well but the coffee grounds may not be soaking wet, then it splashes all over the place.
I'm glad I bought it and would recommend it to every espresso lover.
Although the red one is really eye catching, I opted for a black one as coffee stains don't matter here.

As others have remarked, it is smaller than one would expect, which is great because it doesn't take up much space and fits easily into the top drawer of the dishwasher!
It has a nice, simple, tasteful design that'll fit in with any espresso machine imo. The non-slip base is excellent. I've found that it also functions well as a used tea-bag receptacle (after all, the compost heap benefits from both tea and coffee remains...)
If the coffee grounds are too wet, the knocking out can cause a bit of splatter, but not nearly as bad as I expected. And it appears to be seriously durable - don't expect it to come to any harm any time soon... Read more

This product is one that amateur coffee-lovers (like me) probably don't think about at first. Luckily my friend who is a coffee-lover of note, recommended this product to me. This product is very handy and makes cleaning the portafilter so easy!

This knock box is a perfect size for the home barista - works well and is dishwasher proof. I was initially concerned that it may be too small - but on extensive use this weekend it proved it's capability. Now I love the size - plus it makes storage a breeze.

When I bought this, I was a afraid it would be a little cheap plastic knock off (pun intended!) of the real thing. However, it's a strong melamine little treasure. Small enough for the apartment kitchen, and it comes with a nice little pamphlet to show how you can use your leftover grinds more environmentally friendly. Very very happy with it!

This is a fantastic product - so much so that I bought this one for my cousin as he's always throwing the coffee grinds in the sink and upsetting his wife! We've had one of these for a year or so and it's brilliant. We're now able to easily empty the dregs into the garden or compost.

I was worried this would be too small when it arrived but it works surprisingly well and fits nicely onto my Rancilio espresso machine's drip tray. I liked the booklet with composting tips as well.

This knockbox is strong, durable and attractive. The dark colour means it doesn’t show dirt. A knockbox, as it’s name suggests, gets knocked and beaten all the time so it has to be able to withstand all that manhandling. The Dreamfarm Grindenstein knockbox does exactly that. A great buy!

It doesn't get 5 stars because it's a lot smaller than I expected and could be slightly bigger. It does hold quite a bit and takes up no space on the counter though, so almost perfect ;)

If you are going to be using this with smaller home machines, you will find that the used coffee grinds in the Portafilter (the hangle thing you put the coffee in) is still very wet. This means that when you bang it out on the knock box it starts to splatter the wet grinds everywhere after the third or fourth hit. It makes a bit of a mess. I would prefer if the back and sidewalls of the knock box were higher to help stop this splattering all over the kitchen counter.

Other than that, it's rather nice to look at and seeing as there are not any other options, I would still buy it. Read more

Great addition to my coffee corner. The grounds fall easily into the box and it holds plenty of grounds ready to use in my garden. so much less messy than tipping them into the rubbish bin and eco friendly too.

The quality is ok. the box is way smaller than expected and it is hard to empty your coffee into the box without making a mess around the box. It does not serve the purpose I bought it for.

Bought it as a gift for my husband and he loves it. If you are still in doubt after reading all the positive reviews on this product - go visit the Dreamfarm website - the "about us" section. You will see what an awesome team they are and the products they make. So go ahead - buy this product. And I think the large is the right size, I don't think a smaller one will do.

So, I love the Dreamfarm thinking. Great company. But I've bought two Knock boxes now (the medium and the large) and I've encountered the same problem with both. Basically, after several months of repeated daily use, the central bar comes loose.

This happened on both knock boxes. I like the idea of trying to lessen the noise of banging the old coffee out, but they haven't perfected the mechanism. I've glued both back in but they come loose again.

I may be wrong but I haven't returned either because it happens months and months after the purchase date, not easily within a reasonable returnable time frame. Read more
